Clarification Questions Deaner act 5

1) Do you think Hamlet ended up in heaven or hell? Why?

2) Did Hamlet get the revenge he was seeking?

3) What did Hamlet's last words signify?

4) Put in your own word's the soliloquy when Hamlet is talking about Yorick.

5) How do you think the story would have ended if Hamlet did not kill Polonious, but Claudius?

  1. I think Hamlet went to heaven because although he killed Polonius, who might appear innocent, he really wasn't. Polonius was in a way involved in the wrongdoings of the king. He schemed as well against Hamlet and therefore was not innocent. An innocent person wouldn't be hiding behind a curtain for they would have nothing they needed to hide from. And Hamlet killed Claudius, but he was obviously bad.

  2. Hamlet did indeed get the revenge he was seeking but, he didn't expect such trouble getting the job done, if he just killed Claudius in the chapel, most of this unnecessary death would of been avoided.

  3. If Polonious had not been killed, then the story would have went a completely different direction. Hopefully, Ophelia would have kept her sanity and the only person that ends up dead is Claudius. IF this were to happen, then Hamlet and Ophelia would marry and be King and Queen of Denmark, living happily ever after. This, however, is not the ways of Shakespeare.
